The brain tumour glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the deadliest malignancies and is not curable despite aggressive conventional treatments. There are two major challenges that prevent efficient GBM treatment: heterogeneity and therapeutic resistance. Studies have shown that the tumour microenvironment (TME) is a complex and dynamic milieu that drives treatment resistance. However, there is a lack of molecular understanding of GBM therapeutic resistance in a spatial context and of representative tumour models that mimic GBM-immune cell interactions in humans. In the GOdyno project, we will address these challenges to combat therapy resistance: first, by establishing patient avatars in the laboratory that recapitulate the characteristics of dynamic tumours; and second, by exploring the complexity of cellular and molecular interactions of GBM stem cells in their TME after treatments.<\/p>\n
