The overarching goal of the project is to develop CAR T cells genetically equipped for improved expansion, persistence, and anti-tumor function. We will achieve this by the genetic integration of transcription factors (TFs) into CAR T cells. In addition, we will explore the mechanisms by which TFs can improve the therapeutic efficacy of CAR T cells, and with this new understanding of T cell biology, lay the foundations for the development of more effective cellular immunotherapies for cancer.
