The overarching ambition of JELLY-BIOME is to elucidate the role of the microbiome in the life and decay of its bloom-forming gelatinous host.<\/strong> Particularly, we will focus on the composition<\/strong> <\/em>and functional traits<\/strong><\/em> of the jellyfish microbiome at the transition from a healthy<\/strong><\/em> to senescent stage<\/strong><\/em> of the host\u2019s bloom<\/strong><\/em> to elucidate the role of the microbiome in the collapse of jellyfish blooms. To tackle this objective, we will apply an integrated transdisciplinary approach \u2013 from single proteins to the complex host-microbiome system.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

This is a joint Slovenian-Austrian research project.<\/p>\n
