Augmented Reality Up Close
Have you ever wondered how special glasses can transport us into a digital world and allow us to experience places, games, and content in a completely new way? This is made possible by augmented and virtual reality technologies, which are becoming an increasingly common part of our everyday environment.
Researchers from Rudolfovo will introduce the residents of the Novo mesto Home for the Elderly to these technologies in a simple and engaging way, explaining how they work and where they are used today. Participants will also have the opportunity to try virtual reality headsets themselves – take a virtual walk around Otočec, play various games and explore interactive content, and experience places and scenes they might otherwise be unable to visit. They will also discover how virtual and augmented reality are used in education, research, culture, tourism, and entertainment.
The event will take place as part of the European project RhythmOfLife – Exploring Rhythms in Nature and Human Life and the activities of the European Researchers’ Night.
