In the company of Livia, a Roman woman, we will explore remains from the Roman period discovered by archaeologists in the basement of the City Museum of Ljubljana. Together, we will walk along a Roman road, peek into a Roman sewer, stop by the tombstone of a six-year-old girl, smell freshly baked bread in a Roman inn, search for ancient vessels and light an oil lamp.

We will discover what the Romans did at the baths, sit on a communal Roman toilet, recline on a triclinium, enjoy a Roman sweet treat and search among the remains of a palace’s foundations for traces of the fire that once swept through Emona. During the creative workshop, we will chat with Livia while making our own clay oil lamp.
