Modern, rapid and reliable diagnostics are impossible without the fundamental knowledge generated by research. That is why cutting-edge research forms the basis for the development of cutting-edge diagnostic methods. However, when carrying out diagnostic analyses, new challenges constantly arise that can only be solved by further research. The pace at which these two fields intertwine is accelerating.
Secondary school pupils will follow a diagnostic sample on its journey through the laboratories – a journey that is always one-way and never crosses paths with anything else. They will then take a peek into the laboratories where research is carried out – from those that count molecules to those that magnify an image 100,000 times.
The event is part of the NIB Open Day. It is intended for organised school groups of sixth-formers and secondary school pupils. Advance registration is required via the registration form on the NIB Open Day website.
