In this workshop, we’ll first explain the difference between seeds and fruits and learn that not all plants produce fruits. Nevertheless, fruits play an important role in seed dispersal. Seeds can be carried away from the parent plant by wind or water; they’re often dispersed by animals, or the plant may simply shed them on its own. We’ll also conduct a hands-on experiment to see how certain seeds travel. Researchers in botanical gardens also collect plant seeds, exchange them, and use them to grow new plants.
