The exhibition offers an insight into the history of archaeological research at Ljubljana Castle and presents a selection of finds from the latest phase of excavations, which have been under way at the castle bastion since December 2025. This phase marks the culmination of more than 60 years of archaeological research at the site. The exhibition also highlights other significant discoveries, including the remains of the former entrance tower, defensive moat and medieval route across the bastion, which shed light on the development of the defensive system of Ljubljana Castle and the city, as well as the remains of a stone-built gate on the western side of Castle Hill, whose exact location remained unknown to researchers for decades.
