The Rhythm of the Forest is an interactive experience where young participants explore the main tree and shrub species of Pohorje through play and discovery. They will learn about the forest life cycle, its natural rhythms and seasonal changes, and gain an understanding of the vital role forests play as one of the most important ecosystems for supporting biodiversity and human well-being.
In the Rhythm of Pohorje’s Nature is an interactive experience where young participants explore the remarkable diversity of Pohorje’s ecosystems and discover the connections between plants, animals and their habitats. Through exploring natural cycles and ecological processes, they gain an understanding of how interdependent organisms contribute to the functioning, resilience and stability of the web of life.
Pohorje from Space, Space from Pohorje is an educational experience where participants learn about the work of the Noordung Centre and modern Earth observation satellite systems. By exploring satellite images of Pohorje across all four seasons, they will discover how space technologies help monitor environmental changes and improve our understanding of natural processes and cycles.
At our stand, visitors will discover the fascinating world of pollinators: how they live, why they are essential, what threatens them, how scientists study them, and how everyone can help protect them.
Participants will learn about the importance of circadian rhythms and how disruptions, such as light pollution, can affect the health and behaviour of both wildlife and humans.
Visitors will explore the hidden rhythms of communication among organisms through hands-on, interactive demonstrations, listening to the vibrational communication of insects and smelling chemical signals used by plants and insects, while discovering how these signals change over time and how human activities can disrupt such communication.
Researchers from Rudolfovo will introduce participants to augmented and virtual reality and show how these technologies are used in everyday life. Using virtual reality headsets, participants will be able to take a virtual walk around Otočec, try interactive games, and explore digital experiences in a fun and engaging way.
