Feeding experiments finished

For this summer, the feeding experiments are finished and the collected samples are  stored at -80 C. We have some promising results that need further validation, but first I need some vacations 🙂

dsRNAs for CPB target genes synthesised

For each target gene a dsRNA was designed (the E-RNAi web service was used to optimise primer design) and synthesised in vitro by agroRNA. In addition, the positive and negative control dsRNA for the forthcoming feeding experiments were synthesised.

Based on prior knowledge and available experimental data, three CPB target genes as well as a positive and a negative control sequence to be used in first CPB feeding tests were selected. Potato plants for first experiments are growing in tissue cultures and the synthesis of dsRNAs in vitro and in vivo is underway.
