The TRUST-NK project aims to dissect glioblastoma response to cell-based therapy in a spatial context, focusing on NK cell therapy combined with the TGF-β inhibitor galunisertib and the IL-15 agonist N-803. Using a clinically relevant tumor organoid model that recapitulates the patient tumor microenvironment, the project will identify and characterize glioblastoma cell states, particularly glioma stem-like cells, which respond to or resist therapy, together with their gene expression profiles within the TME.
This work will clarify how distinct tumor cell states contribute to progression and resistance to NK cell-mediated immunotherapy.
This project is financed by the Slovenian Research and Innovation Agency (ARIS).
