WP1: Set-up of the validation process and communication
Workpackage leader and project coordinator: Jana Žel, NIB (until July 2013 Dany Morisset, NIB)
Validation of a newly developed assay for GMO detection is a stepwise procedure including several important checkpoints process (in-house validations, transferability studies and ring-trials). This work package will prepare the documentation necessary to the assay developers and the laboratory in charge to organise the transferability studies and collaborative trials. The documents will be prepared in compliance with internationally agreed method protocol formats. This work package will scientifically asses the results and take decision, based on the internationally agreed criteria and the statistical data produced in WP4, upon the performance of the methods after each phase of the validation process. All assays showing acceptable performance for GMO detection will be proposed to be annexed to the EURL Compendium of reference methods and/or to be published by ISO.
Finally, WP1 will take on board the communication around the project activities.
Project GMOVal
The central aim of the project is to make available to the GMO laboratories community new validated real-time PCR screening methods for an improved GMO detection via the implementation of the matrix approach.
