VirusAquaScan is implemented through a partnership between the National Institute of Biology (NIB) and BIA d.o.o., combining complementary expertise in plant health, diagnostics, biotechnology, and technology development.

National Institute of Biology (NIB)

The National Institute of Biology (NIB) is Slovenia’s leading public research institution in the field of life sciences. Its research activities cover a broad range of disciplines, including plant biology, microbiology, biotechnology, environmental sciences, and molecular diagnostics.

Within the VirusAquaScan project, NIB contributes expertise in plant virology, molecular diagnostics, epidemiology, and the detection and characterisation of plant pathogens. The institute has extensive experience in research, diagnostics, method development, and participation in national and international research projects.

BIA d.o.o.

BIA d.o.o. is a Slovenian company specialising in laboratory and process equipment and the development of innovative technological solutions for biotechnology and related fields.

Within the VirusAquaScan project, BIA contributes expertise in technology development, engineering, and the translation of research outcomes into practical applications. The company has extensive experience in developing and commercialising innovative solutions through collaboration with research organisations and industrial partners.
